Cleaning Silver
It is natural for silver to tarnish. The beauty of silver though, is not only its look and feel, but also that it can always be restored to its original Moon Goddess brilliance.
This silver cleaning method is super simple and truly magickal. Written instructions are also included below.
To remove tarnish
Line a glass dish with aluminium foil, shiny side up.
Place jewellery pieces on foil—silver must be touching the foil, and pieces not be overlapping.
Sprinkle over pieces with one tablespoon of baking soda, and add one cup of boiling water. Soak for five minutes, then remove (do not use rubber gloves), rinse with water and dry thoroughly.
Very tarnished pieces may need more than one cleaning.
You can include pieces with crystals and glass beads, but may have to do more than once, readjusting so that silver links touch the foil.
To minimize tarnish
Wear regularly, and remove when doing chores, showering, etc.
Store air-tight with a piece of chalk, or desiccant pouch (like those found in a pill bottle).
